Pomodoro
When you desire authentic Sicilian red sauce, go with Secondi-Gourmet's Pomodoro! This is classic rich tomato sauce (or gravy as some Italians say). It's jam-packed with fresh garlic, onions, and basil grown in our own herb gardens in Indianapolis. The sauce has a smidge of sugar for sweetness. Heat the sauce, brown some seasoned ground beef or turkey, add pasta and you have a memorable meal your family will request again and again.

Garden Vegetable
This is a treat! It's thick but smooth and loaded with sauteed mushrooms and green bell peppers along with the traditional fresh garlic, onions, and basil grown in our own herb gardens. Heat the sauce, add seasoned browned ground chicken for a very healthy meal loaded with vegetables - great for the kids.

Arribbiatta
You best like it spicy if you're thinking about trying the Arrabbiatta sauce. I've seen many spellings like arabbiata, arrabiatta, or even arabiata. Spell it however you like, but be sure this is a spicy sauce that takes its name from Arrabbiatta which is Italian for "angry!" I believe it's all about seasoning up, not down. If you love cooking, and you're into seasoning your dishes it's likely you understand what I mean. Basically, start early in the cooking process with your herbs and spices so the flavors work through every ingredient that goes into the dish. You can't get the same result by making your sauce and then adding the seasoning at the end as an after-thought.

In the Arrabbiatta sauce you begin with the Extra Virgin Olive Oil and put in your minced onion and garlic, then add your fresh herbs and crush red pepper (flakes are fine). I'll keep the techniques secret, but you get the gist on how a great Arrabbiatta starts from the bottom of the pot. In this case, heat the sauce, add either a seasoned grilled chicken breast or brown some Italian sausage. Keep in mind this is a spicy sauce and the protein you add to it should compliment well with spices for the best result. If you're looking for something different, this is it!

Rosalie Serving Italian, Cook Book
This Cook Book is an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE! I first became acquainted with Rosalie Rita Farino Harpole in 1992 at the tail-end of my Senior year in high school. We refer to this very special lady as "Sister Harpole," as she's given over 30 years of her life to the ministry. She's passionately dedicated to the Lord, and to a spirit of hospitality and servitude. I learned so much from her kitchen it's unbelievable. She, and her daughter Dana both spent countless hours sharing with me little tid-bits about how to embrace the Italian traditions in cooking. I was so thrilled last year when she released her very own Cook Book.

Rosalie is a self-starter, and a motivated entrepreneur. She was born and raised in the St. Louis area. The third child of Italian immigrants, Ann and William Fiorino, she shared a love of cooking with her mother and began to cook at the tender age of eight. In 1963 she married her high school sweetheart Bill Harpole. She and her husband pastored Shepherd's Church in Troy, Missouri for over thirty years.

At 46, she went to college to pursue a life-long dream and became a registered nurse. The inspiration to write a cookbook began while supervising the daily meals at the Old Thresher's county fair in a small town called Elsberry, Missouri. One of the many satisfied customers came up to her and asked "Would you consider writing your recipes down?" Just over a year ago, she began to write down her recipes and now she has her first cookbook, "Rosalie Serving Italian."

The recipes in this book are easy-to-prepare... Sister Harpole shares step-by-step instructions and gives family history and background on many of the recipes and family traditions in the Italian lifestyle. The book is slammed with 148 pages of full-color and very delicious Italian recipes. Visit Rosalie's Blog
